Suh and McCoy or Bradford and Price? You are the St. Louis Rams. Go.

OK, so assuming that St Louis wants a QB and a DT with their first two picks do they: Pick #1 ranked QB Sam Bradford at #1, and take the #3 ranked DT Brian Price late first or early second round; or... Do you take a #1 ranked DT Ndamukong Suh at first pick and select approximately #3 ranked QB Colt McCoy in the late first or early second round? Both scenarios are assuming the Rams would possibly move up to the late first round to guarantee getting their second picks in McCoy and Price.

I think you go for the money in the bank and draft Suh, and get a QB that is more mobile and has similar skill sets to #1 Bradford in the passing game in McCoy. Brian Price is not even close to being in the same VIP room as Suh, and thus I don't think Bradford HAS to be the Rams pick at #1. I Can't wait to see St. Louis blow their chance on Suh.

What to make of this?!!!

Brady Quinn.... Hmm... One good thing you can say about the trade is that Denver didn't have to give up much for a "potential" solid quarterback. Quinn should be able to flourish in McDaniels' system based on all the check downs that the offense calls for. Quinn is a high percentage, 15 yard passer that boded well in Weis' system (simular to McDaniels) at Notre Dame. I can't say I think Quinn will start the year because Orton didn't fare too bad last year, but I think Kyle will be on a constant choke chain with McDaniels holding the leash tightly.

To conclude and emphasize again: All we had to give up was a fullback and two lowly draft picks. Nice pickup McD.

Quarterback, Inside linebacker, or...... CJ Spiller/Knowshon Moreno combo?

Yahoo Sports is picking the Broncos to take inside linebacker Rolando McClain at the 12th spot; Pat Bowlen wants a QB, and it looks like the Broncos could go after Colt McCoy at the 12 spot. But.... Everyone knows that CJ Spiller is a game breaking RB that could be very versitile in McDaniels' short passing/check down system. The thought of Moreno and Spiller as Denver's 1-2 punch in the backfield is just downright SEXY. No offense to Buckhalter, but his mileage is getting up there; and I don't think we need a linebacker with a first round pick. I'm liking the sexiness of Moreno/Spiller.

Don Martindale!!!???

Take a look at your new Defensive Coordinator of the Denver Broncos, Don Martindale (Former Broncos Linebackers coach)!?
I'm pretty sure he was not their first choice... And in other news, Dean Pees,the guy who the media thought McDaniels would bring in to be defensive coordinator, was hired by the Baltimore Ravens as linebackers coach. Coincidence? I think not. I really have no analysis yet, except for the fact the Josh McDaniels is planning on running the same scheme the Broncos used last year; so it's hard to say if the defensive play of the team will change very much at all.

The NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement: Will it get done?

From what I'm reading, the Washington Redskins are a huge part of why the NFL CBA is at a standstill. The Redskins bring in $327 million a year, and the most an NFL team can spend on salary and benifits a year is $150 million. Thus, the Redskins only spend 46% of the revenue they bring in; versus the Minnesota Vikings only bring in about $200 million. So when the Vikings spend $150 million they are spending 75% of their revenue to keep up the team.

The NFL is suggesting that the players take a 20% decrease on their salaries which is $800 million league wide. But they want them to do this so that the NFL doesn't turn into the lopsided Major League Baseball organization where only a couple of teams are relevant. If this deal doesn't get done by next year then multiple things could go wrong for the league including teams not having a price floor and thus spending very little on salary and benifits. Basically, the Buffalo Bills could start paying their team only $100 million and having a pathetic product playing on the field on Sunday; this is just one more reason that something needs to happen QUICKLY!! Goodell!!

...he is going to participate in a pro-life ad that will air during the Superbowl. Many groups are already protesting, but I'm just looking forward to the Christian, Gator and lady loving QB stirring it up. Maybe he'll be drafted in the first round because of his PR move. Doubt it, but I can't wait.

I can't imagine how far the Vikings would fall...

...if these two essential pieces of Minnesota (Favre and Pat Williams) decided to retire. They wouldn't freefall below a .500 record because they still have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, but they will not see the NFC championship game next year if they do not retain Favre and Williams. Tavaris Jackson is not Aaron Rodgers, so the Vikings should be sweating Favre's decision. Williams doesn't exactly have a solid stand-in either. All I know is that the Vikings are hoping to get a solid answer from both players as to what their plans are for next season before the draft. Otherwise, it's back to being a team that barely makes the playoffs.
