WELP, Bye JC.......... Written by Pat Bowlen and JM.....
WELP........ It was fun while it lasted JC........ And I am a bit perturbed that the relationship got rocky and then got even worse as the two sides came to verbal blows. I would've been stoked to have JC back in the lineup because he is a smooth operator in the pocket and can throw a better ball than any QB debatably. But ..........
Let's look at the BIGGER picture....
Roethlisberger has two rings on his fingers in the last 4 years. Period.
Big Ben is a GOOD quarterback....... Not a top 3 quarterback like Brady, Manning, and Brees. And from that list, Drew Brees has never won a Superbowl....
If you break it down, Big Ben has THE BEST defense, and a solid running game. All Ben has to do is throw high completion rate short passes to tight ends and tight route receivers, and limit the turnovers.
With all this said..... As I've said before, I think Brady Quinn could be a solid candidate for a trade because he is a high completion rate, intelligent QB with a couple years of experience under the belt.
Plus........... Then we could have a ball slinger in Denver that says "Now I'm done" every commercial break.

2 things:
1. You do not want Brady Quinn. Unproven in the NFL at best, and he's been tainted by the Browns organization. Leftwich is your answer to get over the hump.
2. I love how everyone thinks Ben is not a top 3 QB. based only on regular season passing Stats? Ok maybe I can see your point.
But in my book, the best QBs are measured by WINS and RINGS. Manning is a stellar regular season QB (so was Marino for that matter). But not too great overall in the playoffs, except for 1 season.
Ben Roethlisberger is a top 3 QB. Brady has the mystique, but we'll find out about how he handles coming back after a season off. Manning? maybe. if he has a good D, sure. if not... he's out in the first round again. Brees? I think Brees' ability to win games is even with Ben. Brees puts up the numbers, but its easy to pad stats when you're usually playing from behind, too.
Either way. If Ben wins his 3rd ring this year or next, then you'd have to consider him. Its just hard for me to put Manning and Brees ahead of Ben when he's got the hardware and WINS to back it all up.
Yo Marraccini.......... I'm definitely giving Ben his respect for his rings. In the end, that's what matters most.
I guess that's what I'm saying is that you do not need a Dan Marino or Drew Brees to throw a lot of TD's and yards necessarily.
You can do just fine with the Roethlisberger's of the league that are not totally flashy, but manage the game well.....with a SOLID supporting cast....
