Lombardi died as a Redskins coach?!
I'm watching the history of the Washington Redskins DVD last night, and I was shocked that I didn't know that Vince Lombardi coached the Redskins for one season and died while he was still coaching. This fact adds more mystique, for me, to the Redskins legacy. Also, I recommend you all check out a linebacker named Chris Hanburger because every tackle he made would be a personal foul in football today. He literally tackled people by swinging for their heads. Awesome!

BMarsh goes for an NFL record 21 catches in a game! Does this mean we should pay him now?.... Ugh... Yeah
Brandon Marshall just broke Terrell Owens' record of 20 catches by catching 21 balls for 200 yards and two touchdowns, just in case you didn't hear about or watch the Broncos game. The man is an "after the catch yards god" as I can best describe him. The man needs to get paid by the Broncos, and the Broncos need to make up the new contracts soon before he decides to test free agency. Marshall will most likely have his third 100+ catch, 1200 yard season in a row. Pretty reasonable stat line.

Jabar Gaffney replacing Eddie Royal?
Well, the facts are that Gaffney has 112 more yards on the season than Royal, and Gaffney averages 10 more yards a game as well. I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Royal came out of the gate firing on all cylinders last year and ended up with a great season of 980 yards and 5 TD's. Neither Royal or Gaffney have a touchdown on the season, and another interesting stat line is that Brandon Stokley only has 12 receptions on the season, but 3 of those were for touchdowns. Seems like like the only constant on the Broncos is Brandon Marshall. Oh well, keep calling your pass plays McD..

Should Brian Westbrook come back to football after this recent concussion?
Some insiders are saying that Brian Westbrook's career is in jeopardy because of the risk of playing after a second concussion. The few facts to keep in mind are that Westbrook hasn't sustained a concussion until this year, but now he has two within 3 weeks; Westbrook is also looking at the long term effects of continuing to play after these injuries and risking lasting health issues. He has played 8 great years, but has been consistantly beat up and injury prone.
My prediction is that, doctor approved, he might return after a few games if the Eagles rack up a couple of victories and get them back in the playoff picture. If not, I don't know if he'll want to risk his long term health for a team that is not going to have a shot to win the big game. And if that's the case, it could be the end of a great career.

How's that Chris Simms pick working out for you Woody?
Hey Woody Paige.... I was at the Broncos/Redskins game on Sunday. And guess what? I saw YA BOY Chris Simms go 3-13 for 13 yards, 1 interception, and a QB rating of 7.5 when he came in to replace an injured Kyle Orton. These great Simms stats proceeded to lose the game that the Broncos should have taken from the Redskins. I understand that Simms hasn't been taking 1st team reps, but come on! 7.5 QB rating? That's pitiful...
I'm not going to completely bash Woody because I usually enjoy what he has to say. But on this instance I have to get in my I TOLD YOU SO!

Wow... Woody Paige is suggesting that 6-2 Broncos start Chris Simms because they are only mediocre with Orton
I usually like Woody Paige for his commentary, but I think he is Mr. Over-reaction this week chanting to put in Chris Simms at QB for the 6-2 Broncos. He knows McDaniels is a one QB guy, and that Orton's stats are still 9 TDs and 4 INT's. Pretty reasonable production with a solid W-L record.
Don't be that guy Woody.... Please...

Holmgren to be GM and new coach of Browns?
Just a possibility... With the GM getting kicked out and Man-genius not living up to his name, it is very possible that Mike Holmgren could be the future coach and GM for the Browns. Holmgren still wants to be a head coach and he is at the top of the list of people that the Browns want for their GM. Now whether he wants to take over a team that is as depressed as the current economy is the real question...

No Mistakes + Chris Johnson running = W for Vinnie Young
Vinnie Young is looking decent, but not great. He had 155 total yards passing and running the ball, and one touchdown with no interceptions. These are reasonable stats that are good for a game manager. But Young must pat CJ on the back for getting 239 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns. The running back won the game, and the quarterback didn't make any vital mistakes. Great game managing Vinnie, but are you going to play humble like this the rest of the year? We shall see...

Nothing left to lose for the Titans, right?

The New York Jets D just took a HUGE hit...
Nose Tackle Kris Jenkins is out for the season with a torn ACL.
What a huge loss for what had been a pretty solid Jets defense. Jenkins, all 360 lbs of him, will be as big of a loss to the Jets as the Titans loss of Albert Haynesworth to free agency. The Jets will not have a talented big body to stop the run in the middle, and I can't help but feel bad for the only Jets fan I know (JG). Sorry John.

Todd Reesing: Will he be an NFL QB?
Reesing has been pretty exceptional as a starter for the Jayhawks, but will his 5'11 frame exclude him from being an NFL starter? I would say yes. Chase Daniel was a great QB at Missouri, but because he lacked ideal height he didn't even get drafted or even make a pro roster coming out of college. I feel the same might happen to Reesing... Only time will tell. But he just fell to MY BOYS at Colorado this last weekend, which isn't a great resume starter.

Zombieland - Fantastical.....
Definitely not craptastical. This movie is a lovely example of what can go right when you combine horror and comedy. Woody Harrelson is sensational as he usually is in a comedy, Jesse Eisenberg (Michael Cera clone) is pretty solid, and Emma Stone(Superbad) is looking pretty decent with all her dark mascara.
The opening credits sequence is one of the best parts of the movie... See it to understand what I'm talking about. Period.

WOW! I can't believe my eyes!!
I thought this diva was never going to sign... As you've seen if you've been following my disdaining of him as the season has progressed.
But, like I said before... I think he deserved to get a contract in the 30 million range; and he ended up getting a 32 million dollar contract with 17 million guaranteed. I guess I have to shockingly say to "the player" - well played.

The Informant: SLOW
Rampage Jackson is done fighting in the UFC.
Any possibility that Crabtree is sitting out the season because he knows he's not fully healthy?
Just a conspiracy theory I have.... But I also understand his contention that other players in the draft have gotten richer contracts than players selected in front of them; so why shouldn't he? He just wants a contract that is in the 30 million range, and San Francisco doesn't agree. So far, Heyward-Bey is definitely worth the 38 million in comparison..... HAHA.. I'm just trying to defend your argument MC. I feel you compadre...

Is Mario MANningham the MAN in the place with the large apple?
Who is the Giants' best receiver to own in fantasy football right now? Steve Smith? Dominik Hixon? Hakeem Nicks (injured)? OR.... Mario Manningham?
Based on this last week, I would say it's a toss-up between Smith and Manningham. I think the only difference is that Manningham is more of a red-zone target, but Smith will probably get more receptions. Almost like a Moss and Welker type of combo...
You decide...

I'm not giving Griffin much of a chance...
Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin should be a great fight this weekend, but I'm not giving Griffin that much of a chance. I'm looking forward to Silva showcasing his dominance over Griffin and getting his shot to fight Machida for the light heavyweight belt which I think he will own soon enough.
There, I've shown the crystal ball of the UFC light heavyweight division...

I know Scott Boras is hard to deal with, but why did we not sacrifice for Matt?
Holliday is a BAMF! Figure it out... He is a great player with charisma and athleticism. He would have kept the Rockies more competitive in my opinion because Troy Tulowitski has not proven much after getting a HUGE contract.
And now Holliday has been traded again to the Cardinals, which is sure to make them competive for the World Series. I mean, what is everyone's deal with not wanting to pay Holliday? Is there something I'm missing about the talent he has? Let me answer... NO!

Yao buys his old China team, and Antoine Walker arrested for nearly a million in gambling debt....
Ahh... NBA Wealth going towards Chinese needs, but not going to Las Vegas. Yao has purchased all the outstanding shares of his old team (Shanghai Sharks), and Antoine Walker was arrested for writing bad checks to multiple big Las Vegas casinos.
You would think Walker would learn from the round mound of rebound of shi@# talking...
